BW Thames delivered
Dalian, China - 6 August 2008BW Shipping’s ninth LR1 product tanker, BW Thames, was delivered today at the Dalian Shipyard in China.
The 76,500 dwt BW Thames is part of a series of 12 LR1 product tankers owned by BW Shipping. The tenth vessel is due for delivery in October this year, followed by deliveries in January and August 2009. All of the vessels are, or will be, employed on time charters.
The BW Thames naming took place on 24 May and was attended by members of BW shore and sea staff, as well as representatives from the Sohmen family. The sponsor was Yan Junqi, Deputy Chairwoman of the 11th National People’s Congress Standing Committee.
