Billy Chiu has been with BW since 1985 and has more than 23 years of experience in the shipping industry. He was appointed as Director of Commercial and Operations in 2003. From 2002 to 2003, Mr Chiu was Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for operations, manning, fleet systems and purchasing.

Before joining BW Shipping Managers in 2002, Mr Chiu held senior management positions within World-Wide Shipping Agency (Singapore) Pte Ltd, first as Manager, Commercial between 1995 and 2000 and subsequently as Vice President, Commercial between 2000 and 2002. From 1990 to 1995, Mr Chiu was Manager, Commercial in World-Wide Shipping’s Japan office.

Mr Chiu graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Social Science degree, majoring in management studies and economics.
